The Elmont Opry

WOW!  If you haven't been to the opry lately...you should go!
If you've never been, you just don't know what you're missing!
Roger Shafstall

The Elmont Opry, a Kansas Mainstay for over 38 years, is the original Country Opry in these parts.  From it's beginning back in 1971, until today, the show has provided great country and gospel music in a family friendly atmosphere.

Great local entertainers like Charlie Heavin, Roger Shafstall, Woody Parker, Glenn Woolaway and Lee Horgan perform with us as part of the Elmont Opry Band.  And, of course, we have our own Elmont talent, like Ray and Verna Jackson, Marie Wright, Judy Clutchey and  duo Sandy Gates and Sharon Breen.  We have a great new addition as well!  Pastor Les, our new Minister has added his fine voice to the mix and we are happy to have him!

We have been blessed to have great "special appearances" the likes of "Judy Coder and Pride of the Prairie", Paul Root...Nashville Star Contestant, "Sons of the Konza Prairie" ,The Noxie Ridge Bluegrass Band, The Shyster Mountain Gang... and the list goes on.

Jim Coder is back with us as our MC...and most everyone associated with country music in these parts knows him.  He acted as MC for the opry for many years, and after a short "vacation" is back with us.  Alan Lawton, formerly of "Pride of the Prairie" is our music director, and he's doing a mighty fine job.

We think we have some of the finest musical talent around, and we'd like to share it with you!
