Our Saturday, September 11th White Elephant Bingo Night was really fun! There were good snacks, a lot of laughs, and great fellowship.
As you might guess from the name..prizes for the evening were "white elephants"...you know, those things at home that we really want to "pass on" to someone else, but haven't quite known how to do it. Prizes ranged from the fun and quirky to practical and sweet. All wrapped up so no one knew quite what they had won!
Once someone Bingo-ed...(Hmmm...is that actually a word?) they were allowed to pick a gift. However, that didn't mean they got to keep it... because the Bingo-ee could either keep their prize, or swap if for a bigger/better treasure that someone else had won! For a while, prizes were being traded fast and furiously!
Now, who wouldn't want a beautiful floral arrangement? Or a candle? Or a tea set or white elephant? Really! A white elephant!
Thanks to all who contributed. Ed and Judy for the Bingo set, those who added their "treasures" to the gift table and brought snacks, and to Corky Milroy for calling out the numbers...after he finally figured out how to keep the balls from popping out onto the floor!
A good time was had by all, and we look forward to doing it again next year!
